@walklino's post on Artfol

I've been through a lot of things lately, things that made me go months without even having the time or mind to dedicate myself to drawing.

But recently, I read a comment that Ahmed Aldoori posted on his Instagram stories (someone quoting someone), and I realized that one of the reasons why I just couldn't manage to draw, even though I had an hour or two to spare, was that I felt mentally exhausted for thinking that I had to immediately vary, evolve, get out of my comfort zone from the time I did the first line. And yes, this is very important, and I want to do evolve as an artist, do more things, improve.

But I need to be a little kinder to myself.

To get back to drawing, I need to heal myself from the things that are preventing me from enjoying my art and preventing me from enjoying it again. One step at a time. It's okay to do art to comfort me, or spend a lot of time on some topic, It doesn't need to be a challenge everytime, I'll always be learning something, I'm not a master at anything, and I'm just happy that today I started drawing again after a long time.
