QOTD: what made you start your art journey?
For me it was the fact that in 2017, I thought drawing digitally could help me overcome some challenges Insas facing. I then got gifted my first screen tablet for my birthday, and got to work!Apr 20, 2021

I had a friend in primary school who had the coolest art style, and we all tried copying and learning from her. She sparked my drive because I thought it was so cool to create these things ... eventually found my own inspirations and tried so many different mediums .. these days I focus on digital and fantasy art styles

I’ve been drawing all my life, but my art journey really got a kick during quarantine

•
ive been doing lil doodles my whole life, but only started wanting to improve when i saw my sister drawing, i was very impressionable as a kid so following her steps led me to where i am now in art! its so fun being able to draw with her!

I always drew as a child, but I really got into drawing in 1st or 2nd grade of primary school, when my friend at the time taught me how to draw ponies xd i've been drawing almost every day since then

I had no friends in middle school and spent my time playing video games. kingdom Hearts and all the friendship theme made me want to make my own OC and put it into the world, so I learned how to draw so that I could do that lol.
In hindsight, I suppose that was a form of escape from reality too and that I had no friends IRL and stuff insert sad childhood story

I've been drawing since a kid, around my toddler years and I loved drawing since. I practiced by drawing random things then traced images in books. Then took inspiration from existing media.
In middle school, I wanted to ensure that I would become an artist so I draw OCs and world build. I want to be a freelance artist when I leave high school.

Ive always been a creative but u wasnt totalky active in art. It was just for fun. Then i got to be very interested in fashion design and abit of realism here and there. Basically a u cld say a its more when i get arnd to wanting to create something.
Fast forward to 2016. I got inspired by my friend whom i went to school with tht was doing art at every second possible. For the whole yr i did art like no tomrrw. Then i stopped forcefully due to major exams for 2yrs but tht bckfired since i got a bad burnout on the last yr.
Now iam letting myself have the freedom of doing wht i want at any given point but id say im doing art alot more than i was and have been posting again after deciding iam fine enough to post something and not feel forced to do it (which i had felt in 2016).

I drew ever since I was a child but in elementary school and high school I was told my art sucked. So I never thought I was a real artist. I didn't focus on improvement for many years and just doodled every now and then. But from May 2019, everything changed for me. I got surrounded by people who supported my art and were proud of me for each little progress. So I started drawing every day. And then drawing became my anxiety relief. I started learning more and more. And here I am now. I still have a long way to go but I am happy so far with my progress! Art makes me happy and relaxes me.

I drew since I was a young child so it wasn't that far fetched I'd wanna do something with it. it just improved over time
•
I was drawing when I was a kid, but didn't start it and had it as hobby until I founded Deviantart. That's where I started and it was nice. ^w^

drawing was always a hobby for me since i had nothing else to do when i was younger- my family had strict rules so my only entertainment were pen and paper- I never drew often during that time. but two years ago when i dropped out of school i got to reading comics more and it inspired me to tell stories of my own.
only recently have i bothered learning the fundamentals of art

I’ve loved drawing/art ever since I was a kid, though I feel cuz I got told I was good a lot when I was younger made my standards stupid high and frustrates me at times!

I have a few memories from when I was a child and drawing. The main one is probably when I was about 9 or 10, I met someone when learning ice skating and they came over that day with their older sister. We sat in my room at my small plastic table and each of us drew something. The older sister drew a girl that I thought was such an amazing piece that I asked to keep it and I copied it over and over for a while
I was also drawing other random stuff based on the cartoons I watched.
After that stage, it went to copying anime images I found online onto paper, and eventually I got my first pen tablet when I was 14 (with a lot of persuasion/begging).

I was in a community about a game (Idk how it’s called anymore) and people used to edit the characters in the game and make lineart above it, I started with that too and then started drawing my own stuff! The first faces I drew digitally looked really awful xD But I also got interested in art in general since my grandma loves things like zentangle and often did these with me!

I have NO idea when the year was? If I had to guess, it was 2010 or something? I wouldn't say I ever started an art journey, I was always just sorta drawing? Huh..
•
I started drawing out of boredom in 2014 because we had huge floods in my country so there was nothing to do
But in 2016 my literature professor told me about using art as a vent so I started doing that
