@artifexligula's post on Artfol
Ok so after a long time of reflecting and screaming at my crappy art (REFER TO MY LAST TEXT POST FOR MY PROBLEM) I have come up with some conclusions that I think are the main issues:
-I probably need to take a break (but Instagram will punish me
)
-I'm having a hard time with hand eye coordination because I don't have a screen tablet, just a pen tab so my drawings are really wonky (always struggled with this)
-I've lost the ability to turn a face into a cartoon version of themselves (someone kindly give it back
)
-I'm not meant to do art and should just become the greatest doctor the world has ever seen even though I haven't taken any medical course whatsoever (me during an operation: "what's this? pokes random organ"
I'M NOT MAKING EXCUSES I JUST GENUINELY NEED HELP WITH THESE CONCLUSIONS I HAVE COME UP WITH. Especially with the tablet one, I always have to focus on two things at once, SO IF ANY OF YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE I'LL BE VERY GRATEFUL

Oh wow I've never tried that satin paper trick, I'll definitely give it a go
Thank you for all the tips and also I'm a really broke art student so not even the cheapest tablet is an option (since my current one is just a hand me down
) but may I ask, is it affordable? I mean is it easy to work with and doesn't break easy, etc?

โขWith the pen tab a really nice tip that a professional gave me was using a really satinated paper on top of the tablet and drawing on that. That way it feels more like paper and it slides less. I also recommend you to do drawing exercises to improve the flow of your lines: straight lines, doodles, geometric shapes...
With the cartoon versions thing you might fininteresting caricature exercises.
Also if you are searching for a "cheap" Drawing tablet with screen xp pen is really affordable
