I’d comment something because usually if you just delete it, people will think you’re actually a thief.
I’d just comment something polite because usually actual art thieves are nasty to people.
Something sorta like, “I actually didn’t repost this, this is a piece I made myself! Do you know where you might’ve seen something similar?” could hopefully help! I’ve literally NEVER seen an actual art thief ask something like this. Usually they only insist that they made it themself, which can be sorta sketchy. But if you also ask about where they might’ve seen something similar to it, it shows that you want to understand & properly clear up the situation in a polite manner. At least I see it that way!
