[Mild rant incoming]
Apologies for not uploading things in a bit, I haven’t been happy with anything I’ve drawn lately.
I had, several years ago, friends who liked me as a person (or at least, I thought they did at the time), but absolutely hated my art. I showed them my art a lot, and they always went on about how it was creepy, stiff, lifeless, how even though I used references, that it didn’t look like I did. They even showed me other peoples’ art, saying “this is what your art is would look like if it was good”. They also begged me not to draw them anything. I like giving people art as a present when we become close (I don’t have a lot of money or anything, so it’s the only present I can give them), so it kind of hurt to hear that.
I still don’t know if I’ve actually overcome those problems yet. Or if I ever will.Oct 10, 2023

Ugh I hate that their skewed judgement has affected your outlook on your art! The line where they begged you not to make them art is absolutely infuriating ..
I hope that eventually you will be able to overcome what they left behind even if right now it feels unlikely. Your style is pretty unique and I think there's a lot of life in your people and energy in your drawings. Hopefully with more time, you can gain the confidence in your art that it deserves.
