What is something you learned in art class and at the time thought was dumb, but now know is an amazing skill/knowledge to know?

nothing actually lol my teacher don't do shit he's not even in classroom so i had to learn everything myself anyway ¯\(ツ)
Drawing with shapes rather than line
one and two point perspective~ (though i never use it)
time management 💦
Tbh, I was really perceptive and open to learn so I did not think anything was dumb 🤔I actually realized that my style was horrible and art classes helped me so much, even a few years ago I found my first drawing of a face in art class and I was like "who did this? Is awful" and it was me 😩 my teacher really helped me to improve a lot
Honestly for me it was how to plan an art piece. My hs art teacher would make us plan out the whole piece including research for poses, and references, style and art references and testing out any new techniques. I don’t do it much now admittedly but it’s useful as hell lol
The width of eyes, nose, and mouth are roughly the same on an individual’s face 🥴
I used to think Perspective and life drawings were dumb 😂 and boy do I regret thinking that! Perspective practice/life drawing (and figure drawing) has sped up my art journey 1000% 😂😂
I always thought that drawing still life(i think this is how it's called in english idk) is dumb, boring and no one needs it
Now i get that this is one of the most important things in art XDD
