But he is not here. He has risen from death as he said he would. Come and see the place where his body was. And go quickly and tell his followers. Say to them: ‘Jesus has risen from death. He is going into Galilee. He will be there before you. You will see him there.’” Then the angel said, “Now I have told you.” The women left the tomb quickly. First time to post religious art here
For this Resurrection Sunday, I drew an artwork about the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
I drew this before, but this time, it is more elaborated.
The character design was inspired by Akiane's Prince of Peace with the colours more based on historical records than the painting. (I use the colours of Aladdin for reference) and feature a tiny bit of Jewish Payot (sidelocks) to his hairstyle.
Also, the background is a painting and editing. I used the photograph of the front view of the Garden Tomb and drew and paint the stone and the background. I also add broken chains to the facade which were placed by the guards of the tomb.
The bloom of flowers that surrounds the tomb and the doves there may be just an artistic licence because it happens in spring and it's a time to rejoice for Christ is risen from the dead.Apr 17, 2022
