@METHIACANVAS's post on Artfol

Just kinda wondering if I had practiced better and differently…my art may not have ended up this way.

Maybe I would’ve had a bigger following? I don’t fucking know.

Kinda gets tiring how inconsistent I fucking am with it. I have over 90+ followers on this at least, but majority barely seem active…not really encouraging when you see that number.

Maybe I should just consider a plain hiatus. Maybe not draw for a year…

For what it’s worth I have a formal art degree and I don’t really like my art or consider myself widely skilled. I’ve been posting for no one since 2009, I know how hard it is! I’ve never had more than 2-3 active followers, never more than 1-2 likes, 0 comments usually (unless you count the cyber bullying when I was younger and a newer artist). All I’ve got as advice is make whatever choice you will with reflection. Make sure it’s what you actually want, and not because of external pressures. I don’t want to see an artist stop drawing bc they don’t have followers 😓
Im going to give my 2 cents being someone who was in this situation at literally your age of 24 - Its never to late to begin practicing and improving and directing your art into a place you ideally want it to be. A hiatus is absolutely fine if you're feeling burned out or de-motivated, it really helps to clear your head and make a plan for the next bout at it. But regretting what we could've done and choosing to focus on that instead of what we can do about it today and tomorrow is how we move forward and improve.
