Hey I'm kinda curious and wanted to ask y'all, what's a character design trope y'all cannot stand?

Like, there's a certain aspect of a character's design that you hate for whatever reason?

The humongous boobs that bounces around. Hate it.
When female characters are overly feminine in order to show that they are female, while male characters are quite neutral. Even worse when the feminine characters are all similar to each other while male characters are very diverse. To be clear: in these cases I hate the visual treatement of female characters, I wish they where concieved more neutrally and diverse like the male ones.
The “Kirito”.

SAO dealt irreparable damage to Japanese fiction the moment the anime aired. Look at the genre it inspired (Isekai) and how bland yet samey a majority of it’s main characters look. Almost exact carbon copies of the OG Gary Stu of anime, and each “new iteration” somehow gets worse than the last.

The design has leaked outside the confines of the genre though, I desperately hope it doesn’t infect more stories.
- Too much details like those from Genshin Impact. Sure they look pretty but is way too overwhelming to look and it don't serve any purposes, they also look uncomfortable to wear regularly.

- Women with huge boobs and revealing clothes. They make me so uncomfortable and i feel it very disrespectful toward women. (Also when I see those designs i imediately assume that the author is male and sexist 😀)
I've been noticing this in the 3d medium (be it a video game or animation)
Accessories that have no purpose (TOO. MANY. BELTS) and overly compiled design in general. Or the designs that would be difficult for cosplayers

Ever since I've began taking character design seriously, I've always asked myself these questions:

"Does this acessory have a purpose?"
"Is this necessary?"
"Is this easy to memorize and draw without reference?"
"If I dressed like this character, do I have to strip just so I can go to the toilet?"
"Will the cosplayer Community send a hitman my way for this design?"

Also, when a character is wearing something that doesn't fit the context or environment. I still remember when Shenhe from Genshin came out and I was so disappointed when I saw she was wearing high heels too. Not only high heels. But ones with exposed toes! If I remember correctly, she lives in the mountains. And that type of stuff is the last kind of shit I'd be wearing on the mountains.

On that note, please for the love of god, give the girlies something else other than just high heels! Especially if they canonically move around a lot!
Hehehe this one attacks every artist who drew their persona in a hoodie bc its what they always wearing. (This is ironically my fav and most hated bc i did it and now i cant draw my persona any other way bc it cracks me up too much)
I hate when designs are too asymmetrical or too monochromatic.. though I think it can be done well, it just depends on the style. I really just hate when a character who has a basic trope for their character design doesn't diverge from that trope in any way (it doesn't have to be big!), or characters who are literally just fan service with nothing else 😭
Dude with a muscular upper body while his legs are practically STICKS (sometimes it can be funny, but most of the time I cringe)

Women with unnaturally big breasts, while the rest of the body seems fine. It makes me feel like there's something heavy pulling me down.

I think there's more, but I'm really sleepy ⊂(- ﹏ - ⊂)
Every woman being drawn with an hourglass body type
Not every woman has that type of body. Certainly not myself.
It pisses me off to no end when the men are drawn with various body types and facial structure, but women are not given the same privilage.
Just give me triangular/rectangular/other shaped women, darn it!!!
The typical korean webtoon guy with an overly muscular upper body and literal sticks as legs. Where is the balance???
when I cant tell a character apart from another character, for example as much as I love murder drones I think wayyyy too many characters look way too similar to one another, although it didnt bug me as much in MD but i cant come up with any better examples, other than that I dunno
SNOT. HANGING. FROM. THEIR. NOSE.
It always makes me so uncomfortable. It's disgusting. Wipe your fucking nose. One example is Meelo from Avatar, he doesn't constantly have it but it does appear pretty often I think. I also once watched some pilot of a show and ine character had a snotty nose the whole time and it bothered me so much
