Change it up! There's no reason to make a story you're not going to be happy with. Most stories go through very drastic changes before anyone sees them, it's part of the process

It seems as if you would be unhappy with not changing them, so that may not be the right solution for you, though you can also change aspects of their stories without completely throwing them out right?
