When my app updated, there was a pop up thingy saying 'we keep this app free by showing ads' and I was able to pick if I wanted to see 'relevant ads' and 'not so relevant' (whatever the hell that means). So I guess the reason is that they want to keep the app free. And if your theorie is right, I can't wait untill the public release!

I only got ads in the flirst two months of the release to raise money, I don get them anymore
