FINALLY finished!! It came out alright, considering i didnt use a reference. But whats important is that I CAN SHARE MY LOREEEEE 
Okay so its an apocalypse story. The world building behind it is that basically this fungus begins growing everywhere, and it releases these spores into the air. These spores dig into people's skin and fuse with the DNA, causing people to turn into mutants. The spores and fungi they came from actually manifest themselves into the mutation rather than just being the onset for it, so there are a bunch of eerie and ethereal creatures that come out of this. Society crumbles as people are put into a frenzy. The government evacuates citizens so they can try to put them into bunkers to get away from the spores, but there's not enough room for everyone and the rest of the people are stuck in a world that's trying to kill them or turn them. The mutation itself appears as vieny at first, and takes up to a week to be completed. I also have a concept to explore of whole mutant cities and the culture that would emerge there once most humans are gone into bunkers. So thats most of the world building so far. I still have characters and more lore to dive into.
The mc is Amaryllis Halloway, or Amy, typically. She was around 11 at the start of the apocalypse and her parents were SUPER overprotective. They hid their family away from the mutant threat in the very early days, subject to the media, and so Amy was raised in an environment where the "monsters" were a constant looming threat. Her parents instilled a deep rooted fear of mutants in her. One day, her father got the mutation and her mother KICKED HIM OUT! In the process though, he tried to reach for Amy and instead accidentally cut her, leaving a scar across her arm. She was kinda traumatized from losing her dad to this but managed with her mom for a little while longer. However, then her mother got the mutation, and kicked AMY out of the house for her own safety. So having lost both of her parents, she follows her mother's instruction to a secluded house in the middle of nowhere. Theres a grocery store nearby that she rations for a couple of years. One day during a grocery trip, she meets another girl in the store! Not having seen another person in years, Amy freaks out. The girl introduces herself as Calli Vale, and invites Amy to join her and her group of survivors. Amy accepts and goes along with her. What Calli failed to mention is that there are MUTANTS in the group! Amy goes crazy and tries to attack one of them, almost killing him, and this mutant turns out to be Callis brother, Theo Ezra Vale. Calli holds an enormous grudge for this incident, and the others take a little while to warm up to Amy too. Eventually though, Amy actually becomes good friends with the mutants and people, especially Calli and Theo.

There's a lot of room to expand and layer this. Are the humans going to end up building a whole underground network, sort of a labyrinth or tunnel system to connect bunkers, and kinda rebuild a second society?

•Love the lore !! That's so interesting, so the mutants aren't all dangerous ?:0 So, it is just the government and population that are scared at the beginning of it because they don't know what it is ?
