@apini's post on Artfol
just noticed a cool thing abt my art style XDD
I mostly draw backgrounds for journalism and school magazine works and details are always so full and coherent. I mean tbf i have editors to help me out that's why it definitely looks better than personal art. Meanwhile I mostly draw people for personal works like here on Artfol, and it's likely clonky and unfinished XDD
Why am I yapping about this? idk really, it just made me realize that maybe some artists out there have a very opposite art style to what they're doing traditionally to digitally, or perhaps artwork they do for themselves and artwork they do for others are a total 180! and i totally respect both! :DDJan 16, 2025

THIS!!!!!!!!!! Every different media i make art for has a COMPLETELY different artstyle... hence why it kind of triggers me when people look at my traditional art and call that "my style" because...no........no its not............actually..... its just my traditional style
This took me so long to understand, i realised i needed to do this when if i didnt choose to diversify my style accordingly to the tools i use, i wouldve had no idea how to adapt my main style to other mediums... especially if im not yet skilled enough to reach the level of that style id assume id have anyway.
Its very deeply enriching as a multi medium artist to do this in my opinion because it teaches you to different tools and mediums in unconventionally unexpected ways that FIT your different set of tools
But nevertheless... kudos to those who can have one style in whatever they do... i always found that admirable

•Ah that’s neat, glad you’re enjoying making art outside of work!
I work in animation and everything is polished and clean, so I love a good scribbled/messy piece where the thoughts can almost be seen!
As for myself, I was avoiding making art for years so that was probably my opposite of having to do art for the job heh

•I know what you mean and i found out that in an art stile crisis or art block you can get out of it if u try your other art stile in the other medium. I‘ve recently done that.
Also i adore your character art i love its sketchy stile. I think it brings so much personality. Perfect imperfections :)
