A bit of a personal question which I'm sorry about but felt like I wanted to ask, which is can someone be bi and christian at the same time?

Just for some context: i come from a church which says homsexuallity is a sin (and girls wearing trousers is a sin and showed us videos of hell) and I've seen in the scriptures that gxg or bxb is a bit of a lustfull thing but I don't really know if it goes for being romanticly attracted or liking both genders.

I don't mean for this to come out as a vent or any personal dumping thing..

Not religious but an armchair historian. I think you should just follow your own path within your faith. There are some interpretations of the bible that believe that salvation is a mindset rather than an afterlife thing (very esoteric). Along with honouring god in a more pagan like way as in finding it in nature rather than a church. Plus, the bible was written and rewritten over many many years and by different ppl (including popes) so the views and supposed way of living is entirely subjective to those people and usually only relevant to their time periods. Remember that while christianity started off super progressive, men in power ended up using it as a form of control. Im not sure how christians practice exactly, but I'd also try an focus on the jesus chapters as, from a non christian, he seems to be more of a "peoples princess" type of guy and would probably be chill w bisexuality (i mean he travelled w a bunch of men...)

TLDR: find your own way within christianity, its teaching on morals still have meaning and you can still be connected to your faith (ppl do that all the time for negative reasons) and dont fall the fear tactic that is hell, im sure you wont be a mass murderer or pedo so, scratch that destination off your list

And about the pants thing? They didn't even have pants in that region during that time, so that claim is a case of major bogusitis
I am Christian and I believe queer people can be Christian too. I believe that God loves queer people because they don't hurt anybody by loving the same gender or being their true self. God created them as queer and they simply honour and celebrate the soul God gave them. God and Jesus never said "homosexuality" is bad, even in the Bible (written by several humans reporting God's acts), the few mentions of homosexuality as bad are always spoken by a person, not by God. All the hate against queer people is fabricated by humans for their goals of power and discrimination (and I think this is more sinful than loving a person or being yourself). Some humans randomly decided to focus on the very minor and scarce mentions of "homosexuality bad" and ignore all the numerous super highlighted "love your neighbour", "don't judge because we are all sinners", and most importantly "don't kill or harm others" (not direct citations, I am referring to the ideas, not the percise wording since they are expressed many times in different ways).

So yes, I believe Christians can be queer. Btw I am a woman and I always wear trousers. I think that Jesus always wore skirts/dresses technically because at that time in Palestine they had no trousers (they come from Celts in North Europe apparently). I don't remember trouserd being mentioned anywhere in the Bible, so if they are sinful for women they should be for men too.
I’m not Christian and don’t follow any religions so I can’t help you with this matter, but I’m also curious: how come women wearing trousers is a sin? Sounds like something old-fashioned and misogynistic men would say.
I’m not Christian but I have a friend who’s also bisexual and Christian!

As long as you’re comfortable, I’d say go for it! Just remember to always be respectful, mindful, and supportive of others <3
Guessing by your post you are pretty young but you absolutely can! Being bi isn’t a choice or something you can control and there’s nothing wrong with it. I’m sorry that you’re in such a restrictive environment and I wish you all the best. I’m not bi myself but from one alphabet person to another, it does get better when you’re older 💚
Hey omg!! I used to identify as bi for years (queer now and on the aroace spectrum) and I'm also Christian! I get so happy when I see other queer Christians. Christianity has so many denominations that vary so much in beliefs and moral code (some dont believe in hell at all for example!), and the bible has been translated and interpreted in so many different ways, and many passages and their meanings are heavily debated among scholars (such as the "man shall not lie with man/boy" one). Also keep in mind that it was written two thousand years ago by humans who let their own beliefs influence what they wrote. I know many Christians don't agree with this and it's fine if you don't, but I personally don't feel like 2000+ year old texts should completely dictate everything you do or think today. I was raised in a church that taught nothing bu love and kindness, and I believe the God I know would never condemn anyone because of whom they love. Ultimately, people can say what they want but your relationship with God is something personal that nobody can take from you.
It sounds to me like you're part of a particularly strict denomination, if they're saying that women shouldn't wear pants. I agree with dotyisa_nerd that you should do more research about what different branches of Christianity teach and decide which one aligns with your personal beliefs.

And if you feel in your heart that something your church is teaching you doesn't seem right, listen to that gut feeling. After all Christianity at its core is supposed to be about loving and accepting others.
It really depends on what you believe is the true interpretation of the Bible is, I’ve seen many arguments that the verses against homosexuality are miss translated and are actually taking about boys and men, not men and men, meaning the verses is probably taking about pedophilia. And I’ve seen many Christian’s who are LGBTQ+ and/or don’t believe it is a sin. Same with the whole girls not wearing trousers, most people justify that with men and women should not wear each others clothes, except in biblical times no one was wearing pants because that wasn’t the style of clothing people wore. That idea depends on your interpretation of the scripture. I’d be skeptical about the videos of “hell”, not sure how someone got a video camera into the afterlife and then got that recording back to us…

I highly recommend you do your own research, pray about it, an ultimately decide what you believe is right. I don’t think there is necessarily one “right” answer you’re going to find because there are so many different ways people view, interpret, and follow the Bible.
God says to come as you are, but not to stay as you are! I think if you accept God to change your life then that should also change your heart :)

Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Have a blessed day girlll 🫶
