my mother asked me to draw Murphy yesterday, I told her I'm not the best at drawing dogs but I did it anyway. She liked it, that's all that matters.I included some pictures of him from my family's facebooks (most from my mother but the greying Murph is from my sister - it was just so free and Murphy that I couldn't not include it) so you can actually see the sweetie.
Unfortunately, he did die on Wednesday like I thought he would. the vets said he may've had a tumour and the surgery would not have an easy recovery for him with his old age and his weak legs. He no longer wanted to eat in the 2 days we awaited the vet appointment, didn't even accept treats so he had to be put to sleep lest he died painfully.
It hurts to talk about it but I'm handling it okay, it only really affects me when I see his collar in the kitchen. He fixed my fear of dogs, knocked out my first ever tooth (which had a domino effect into inspiring Seraph btw lol), was always a big comfort (he'd literally push open my door if I was sad because he'd somehow sense it from the other side of the house hehe) and overall, he was just such a lovely boy.Feb 28, 2025
