Time for some skewed statistics. Did you fall into a deep anti-sjw sinkhole as a child/teen?

From the Bible belt of the U.S. and have older parents (mom was 44 when she had me, dad was 37) that are extremely conservative. I spent most of my life until highschool hating lgbtq+ people (myself included)
Took me a while to unlearn that but now I'm a happy aroace trans man!

Came from an extremely religious household that shamed me when I started experimenting with more androgynous clothes. It led me to be really anti-non binary for a few years. I'm still working through it and am still unsure about my gender identity to this day.

•Luckily no, my family isn't really religious and they're pretty supportive in general with me being in the LGBTIQ+ (ace). Except my dad due to the whole idea of "how do you know if you didn't even try or never had a bf?" but he's really trying to learn. His homophobia comes out when he sees gay couples kissing on TV, according to him two women kissing it's not the same when two men do

•My biological dad was an absolute monster. Racist, homophobic, sexist, the whole nine yards. He tried to mold me into the spitting image of himself. Obviously, that didn't work out. Lol I turned out to be an atheist, openly bisexual guy who is comfortable with their masculinity enough to like bright colors and cute things. My mother's side of the family were religious but not homophobic thankfully.

mm depends on how you'd define a 'deep' 'sinkhole'. i deffo had a while there where i was a bit of a shithead, and had a lot of internalized transphobia or somethin i guess that got brought out thanks to some of the youtube bs i consumed. also depends on what you consider a tolerant background - tolerant bg implies the people around you even know what it is / think about it / have reason to voice their opinion on it and have decided to tolerate stuff

Yeah. My father was incredibly sexist, racist, the whole thing. He made me feel terrible for being a female. If I disagreed with him, I'd get yelled at and lectured for hours about how wrong I was.
I've become way more accepting and understanding of people with different backgrounds.

Absolutely! I thought being anti feminist made me a smarter girl. I think a big part of me thought that since I sucked it up when it came to abuse in general, women should also suck it up and not complain about their hardships.
Later in life I completely turned around to the point i “over consumed” news about women being abused. Since then, I kind of stopped consuming political content all together because I realized the way I informed myself made me very unhappy, as I’m a very emotionally sensitive person. I’m much happier now.

I grew up in a conservative household and had very strong religious beliefs and prejudices. It's taken me a long time to get out of those, but I'm a lot happier now than I was back then. Anyway the Conservative Christian to Queer Alt pipeline is real and happened to me B)
