Anyone else get bored of things quickly? Not like repetition kind of bored but generally new things of your interests. You may love the idea but may logically/mentally complete it too fast somehow? Or am I weird

Uh… in a way. However, no. I stay interested in something as long as I across like it. My original books and characters I scraped ALOT of things. When my story is finally completed IT WILL BE VERY DIFFERENT. I didn’t bored of the old story… it was more… unhappiness. There’s a difference between unhappiness and boredom. I want to look back when 55 and say I’m proud of this. I don’t want to regret anything when it comes to my career. And everyone else should do the same. Do what makes you happy. Life isn’t worth living if you can’t be who you are.

yeah, unless i’m doing it with someone else i find i dont have the brain space to be invested in anything on top of life. other than maybe art, though i still just from project to project, low commitment helps lmao

•Sort of not related, but yes, I was so damn excited to go on vacation bc I haven't been in 4 years, and it was so fun going on a plane again, being in a hotel and I walked the streets a bit, got some food and clothes, now I want to go home. That's it, that's me holiday done I'm bored of this and I want to go home hah.

•yep, almost everything that i haven't been obsessed with since i was 12 (or even 11) to 13y.o. bores me
the dopamine of having discovered something new doesn't last for too long to me anymore
i need it to be something extremely intense to not get bored about it

•To me it's not a loss of interest, it's more that I can't emotionally get into it enough to see a point in continuing watching something
My life is too stressful/emotionally full for me to be allowed to get emotionally invested in something more
I read something about it a while ago I think, how people seem to get "bored" more quickly than before, and the fact that it has more to do with that emotional unavailability, so there's that

•Kind of? It’s not that I loos interest, just that I feel more comfortable jumping between different tasks. Like making a bag for a friend, restoring an old sewing machine, mentally planning to make a suitcase for art stuff, sewing stays and knitting a cardigan with some scetching and drawing inbetween.
And whenever I feel stuck, or don’t feel like doing one of them I can hop to another and continue with the other thing later.
With picking up new interest the understanding part usually goes quite nicely if I keep it stretched over the making the first thing time. That also keeps my interest up as the "I want to be able to make that" helps ^-^"
