Yes, you missed quite a lot actually! There were a few waves of porn bots, but they all got banned!
Back in May, I think 2 elf-obsessed accounts (@/tyrande now banned, & @/elenwen, now inactive, but you should probably block) appeared & spammed users, asking them to make them free art of elves. They also apparently posted some traced & straight up stolen art on these accounts, with @/tyrande stealing art from another account here on Artfol.
@/elenwen said in their last text post, “I’m probably gonna do something wrong because of you,” implying that they’re planning on some sort of revenge against Artfol.
Fast forward to November, & it looks like they’ve been keeping to their word. 2 dwarf-obsessed accounts popped up (@/dwarfsupremacist & @/dwarfofthemountain, both banned) popped up, stole art from both DA & here, claimed to make the art themself, called transgender people “sluts,” & promoted violence against gay people & s*xual violence towards women… & elves? They’ve also harassed users, telling them to off themselves when called out as a thief. They’ve been coming back here once a week, & now their accounts get banned between an hour to 15 minutes. They’ve made a total of 10 dwarf accounts so far, all of which are banned. Here’s the total list of the usernames!

Several more elf-obsessed accounts popped up mid-November too, & one I didn’t know about back in June, @/starelf (banned), @/gondolinfolk, @/myriadofcolours, & suspectedly @/elfofartfol. I’d recommend blocking those accounts & specifically reporting @/gondolinfolk for spamming users for free art & to join their art challenges.
The “elf/dwarf guy” is actually this infamous art thief, art scammer, supports non-consentual sex, just an all around not good person known as “spiritomb1831” on Reddit & DeviantArt. Here’s more info on them!

All of these accounts tend to make the exact same grammatical mistakes, misspellings, & bring up the same topics of elves, dwarves, LOTR, & women/elves being tortured, mutilated, or “non-consentually touched” to word that lightly. Their art challenges tend to go off on huge worldbuilding/character/elf establishing tangents & aren’t really related to the challenge at all.
If you do see one of their posts or a comment on a post, (either yours or someone else’s) it’s best to NOT INTERACT. It’s hard to tell for certain if these accounts/that user is a troll, but considering their persistence with (this is not an exaggeration) over 30 known usernames across the internet, it’s likely they’re so obsessed/passionate/lustful about elves/women, they won’t stop until they have no access to the internet at all.
If you see any of their content that can be reported (spamming people for free art, art theft, unprompted harassment/bullying, etc) please do report the account, (2 dotted icon on a profile or post will let you report things) summarize what they’ve done in the report & link the OG art when applicable, block the account, & if they commented on one of your posts, delete the comment like nothing happened. The more reports an account or post gets from multiple users, the higher it goes on the devs’ list to investigate & take proper action! Apparently, they can’t ban IP addresses because it’s too expensive; roughly $1,000 expensive & buying a new IP address only costs like $25-$35, so it’s not exactly a worthwhile investment a small app can make!
Despite all of that mess, Artfol is still a chill & fun place to be! I know this is A LOT of crazy information, but it’s important users know about this so no one can be scammed or hurt by any of those accounts!
