What is your experience with art fight? Do people actually draw ocs from smaller artists? Or mostly from big artists?Jun 3, 2021

In my experience I’d say it’s good chance to draw something for this very talented artist you admire but you might not have the courage to ask them for an art trade directly. If you’re near their skill level and they don’t have that many attacks they’ll most likely return the attack :>
So yes, it is a very positive experience. And there are also many people who just randomly draw characters they like, so you might end up getting a few surprises!
Though if you just sit there waiting for free art you might not enjoy cuz you might not get any. I recommend you to be proactive and attack too :>
It’s quite fun but tbh I would not do it if the main thing you’re expecting is to have ppl draw your ocs
this my first year partaking in it so I'm not sure. I may depend
It's pretty fair from the years I've participated! People draw whatever OCs they're interested in. The main reason smaller artists get ignored is because they might have an undeveloped style that makes reading ref sheets difficult, or they may not have proper ref sheets at all.

As long as you have clear refs of your characters, you should get some art!
I draw for my friends and also OCs I find fun to draw in my style. I also draw for people that barely get attacks. so I'm mostly drawing for small artists or attacking back for people who drew for me since I don't have any creators I look up to.

I'm in the discord server, and they open up a channel for looking for attacks in there and people would post what they have and what they'll do (attack back, friendly fire same team attack, or chain attack where they attack back and forth) so it's really easy to find people and also others to find you. Some people also open up a google forms to fill out that they link in the server so they can find people easily too
I didn’t participate much in artfol last year but, while people do prioritize the people they care about (whether it be friends or creators they look up to), they do definitely draw random peoples ocs
I've been participating in ArtFight since 2018 and from my experience it's a bit of both. It kind of depends on who you follow on there, who follows you, and if you've shared your ArtFight link on any social media. They have a discord you can join if you want to find people to attack or have someone attack you if you'd like to do that as well
in my experience, i’m a really small artist on the site and three people drew my one oc last year, and as for drawing other people’s ocs i just choose from the character section of the website based on their design
