Hmm if I'd invite them to my birthday they're probably my friend. I get along with many people but I wouldn't invite them to come to my home with all my other friends and see me at my lamest (people my age usually throw parties or go drinking for their birthday while I have a sleepover at my place and play board and video games, and I always feel like they'd think it's lame or something

As a neurotypical who doesn't socialise much, I usually consider friends to be the people I ask to hang out with me / people who ask me to hang out with them. It varies so much from person to person :') It sucks that there's no simple formula for it dhegbefdjfr

•As a fellow neurodivergent, I don't get it either but I have found that simply asking helps altho the responses are a mixed bag- some peeps like the simplicity of that n others don't.

Like most of the time I’m like "idk for you but I consider you my friend" and then judging by their response i adjust
