This looks like a really interesting composition so far! I suggest pushing your light/dark values more. You can check your values by adding another layer on top of your drawing, making it fully white and set it to the blending mode Saturation. By doing this, you can see how dark and how light your colours are. You can play around with it too, by using it to your advantage to enhance your composition even more. If your character is the main focus, then when your image is in black&white, your character should also stand out the most, if that makes sense. I wish you luck!
