Intense
Honestly this painting was like a fever dream to create. A while ago I had a day where I felt the need to create something, to get ideas out of my mind and onto paper.. but I had no inspiration and everything I drew looked back. So I grabbed some orange paint and slapped it onto a canvas.. the orange was very intentional, because it’s an intense colour and I was feeling quite intense that day. After that dried I left it sitting on my desk for who knows how long.. weeks.. months.. until today i decided.. screw up I’m gonna paint a person from my Pinterest board. I’ve painted with acrylics before but never like this, I’ve never used skin tones: only colours. However I love trying new things with art and exploring my style.. I’ve tried gauche which I really enjoyed but I didn’t have any gauche on me so I decided to just go for it with acrylics. I’m so glad i did because somehow I created this. I love the messiness of it, the bold strokes, the bright colours contrasting the greyish skin. It seemed like seconds went by and it was done, although it was actually around an hour. I hope to make this style of painting a series.. maybe have different emotions/colours in each painting? This one is a very intense emotion so next time I might go for a calm emotion with cool colours. (This painting used a reference from Pinterest)Jun 15, 2021#painting
