Through the Snow
When I visited Korea after my college graduation, I went to an old village--the one people don't normally go for a tour. The first picture I took there was an old wheelbarrow resting on a brick wall. I was into old artifacts and buildings as an art interest at the time and this worn thing captivated me at once. I read so many stories from its worn tires, strings made of rubber and faded yarn, and the pieces of planks padded on top of another for a quick and efficient fix. Instead of replacing the old pieces with new ones, this wheelbarrow carried on all of its histories for its entire life. Now that Korea's economy has grown so much, objects like this is more a nostalgic element than a mean for survival. I loved seeing it remaining as a living being in this neighborhood.Jul 22, 2021
