It doesn’t look good, it’s looks bad okay. especially if you’re drawing art of characters that canonically have dark skin. It just makes it look like you whitewash them. I don’t care if it’s an art style thing. There I said it.

I only don’t color the skin when its a non colored image. Occasionally i will color just the hair, but thats only on my self insert. I don’t understand why people do this. When you do coloring, i find it easier to start with the skin because is gives a nice base and makes it easier to compare colors when designing new characters

It’s weird to me when you draw a character or Fanart and so on, you color it but don’t do anything with the skin it’s weird. Coloring/drawing anything you color and don’t color the skin it weirds me out. I agree with you.

yeah i don't usually mind art style stuff but when you're drawing a darker skinned character and you're making them look like a snowball then there may be an issue

It’s hard to put into words but how people color Skin is honestly one of the appealing parts of an art style for me. Like with all the different skin tones you can use and the way you can shade it. So maybe that’s why I don’t like it when people don’t color the skin. I feel like it only works with characters that already had pale skin. Not coloring the skin of a character that has a dark skin tone ain’t good.
