I have to write a speech and I chose to write about generative ai and why it absolutely sucks ass.

Yay! Expressive writing! Ai causes people to be lazy and not use there own minds to create pieces of art which could possibly lead to some people being insecure when seeing a 'terrific ai art' or just getting crushed when they find out later it was ai and not a human, some people can have the advantage to generate extremely offensive and inappropriate pictures (eg: the Disney poster trend) or fake an art style to turn into something harmful (eg:Ghibli ai trend)

•Ooh that's great! We had to write speeches for school once as a writing practice and it was honestly so fun because we could freely choose our topic, and I wrote about gay rights. I love collecting arguments for something I care about and putting my thoughts into structured words. Anyway here are some ideas:
- gen ai is like. SUPER bad for the environment. I've read stuff about a single chatgpt query being equivalent to ~40 - hundreds of google searches (depending on the complexity of the query - look this up to find a better source than me) and there's really no good reason to produce that much carbon emissions for what, a ghibli image of yourself? A dirty roleplay with your favourite character? An essay full of misinfortmation?
- next point: misinformation. This is more about text generative ai but still. AIs are trained on the same data that's available to all of us with an internet connection, except we know that reddit and quora arent realiable sources and can usually distinguish memes and sarcasm from real facts. AI doesn't. And using it for academic purposes is even stupider because it sometimes straight up makes up sources or claims that a source contains x information when it doesnt at all.
- therr are so many things we could improve and make easier but creative jobs? Really? Why would anyone realistically want that? It started with AI texts and scripts. Then we went to AI images. AI voices, and AI videos. If this keeps going, we're going to only have fully AI-generated movies in the future, everything from story to video and voice acting machine generated. What are these movies supposed to do? The story wont have any deeper meaning. The shots and lighting won't be deliberate decisions by a camera team. The voices will hold no emotion anywhere near what a human actor could do. That's not even good for entertainment, that's straight up garbage.
