Its okay to suck at things. Its okay if its imperfect. Its okay if you know you’re not at your potential yet (but you’re still trying)Dec 22, 2023

It's good to remember that everything takes time :3 When I see super cool art, I can tell more or less well how it was made (thanks to working with other artists for a while). Super-detailed realistic paintings are heavily borrowing from photo references, while I'm trying to draw mostly from memory, and use refs only for general proportions/anatomy, and only when I need them. Doing studies, however, boosts my understanding of form many times every time I do them, but the desire for this doesn't appear in me every day. Other things such as lines in your lineart depend heavily on muscle memory, so line quality can only be trained via regular practice. Comparing your own drawings from a few years ago to your drawings done today helps with confidence a lot.
