Awful decision and I really hope they take it back, its just insulting to the people who bought the program and now have to eventually pay a subscription fee to get future updates, its just a scam in my eyes. I like the program so I’ll continue to use it but I’m very pissed with the route they’re going

Just gonna bite it.
It’s the only program I genuinely like working with, and like the person below me said, you don’t have to pay for the subscription

I made a post about it, explaining everything.
+ Perpetual one time purchase license will continue to be a thing for all the major versions (v2.0, v3.0, v4.0, etc)
+ I dislike subscription all together and the subscription part is poorly thought out. Of they really wanted to, they should have made it a 'beta testing' sort of situation where those who do pay for the subscription will get early access to features but the rest will get it later.
++ I will still use CSP, but i will not pay for the subscription part (cause it's dumb). I rather wait for v3.0 to see if v 2.x is even worth it and buy that license if i want all of 2.0s features.

It’s not actually as bad as people are taking it to be. CSP worded their announcement in a way that has been pretty easy to misunderstand, which is resulting in quite the crapshow.
Here’s a thread that explains it better than CSP was able to: https://mobile.twitter.com/Kavaeric/status/1561743066662412292?cxt=HHwWiIC97e3CtqwrAAAA

I plan to just keep using my current version until it no longer works. That’s what I did with Adobe, I ran CS5 for… like 10 years wow haha
After that I’ll just hafta see what else is out there.
I don’t blame them for wanting to charge for major version upgrades. But moving to subscription-only when your company was popularized BECAUSE of your one-time purchase option seems like a poor business choice :/

•I'm kind of upset that we have to pay for update even if we buy a one time version. It's like paying for a gym membership but then you have to pay again to use new equipment. It make no sense to me. The only users that see no changes are the one that pay monthly.
But hey it could have been worse, they could have taken the adobe way. At least they still keep the 1.x version online, free with acess to all the assets.
