Hope you’re having a nice Spooky Weekend! Here’s a throwback to one of my most popular pieces I’ve ever posted.

Started working on it in october 2009 and posted it for the first time online later in 2010. It gained a lot of unexpected attention and has been stolen and shared around online countless of times through out the years. Even I have been accused of stealing it!

I remember that I was super into John Bauer’s art(I still am). I absolutely adore his beautiful piece of Princess Tuvstarr and wanted to create something in a similar setting but with a dark humorous twist.

Some have pointed out that the wolf looks like Scrat from Ice Age and I can definitely see a resemblence. It was completely unintentional though, guess I didn’t realize how influenced I was by those movies, they were quite popular back when I painted this.

I worked on it while traveling by train, on my first laptop and wacom tablet(intuos 2), it took months to paint and I struggled so much with it! I found painting to be so much harder compared to now and I was so proud when it was finally finished :)
