I should start doing a yearly redraw, I keep seeing cool artists doing them and directly tracking their improvement and it looks fun! But I keep just going “ah I wish I’d started one back when I was nine, guess it’s too late now” :/Jan 3, 2024

The only way to have a long redraw chain is by starting one, and time is mercilessly marching forward anyway.
I've redrawn the same piece for 4 years by now and it's getting really stale. I might have to change the subject this year, haha.

I like doing redraws as a way to track improvement too but most of the time it just goes like
sees old art, spots a mistake “I think I can tackle that little detail better now” ends up redrawing the whole thing
As far as the starting at nine thing goes
Your art in and of itself is a track record of how you’ve improved over time
Redraws just help you terminate some variables and have a clearer comparison

•Do it do it! You might even end up having a change in less than a year that may make a difference in a redraw, so I definitely don't think a ten year progression is necessary even if it could be cool to see haha
