bloody handprints and blood splatter
legacies
"... I still find myself in the ruins, standing in the sharp red sea. My mortal half being consumed one centimeter at a time, into the void that is the Architect's numerous bulbous eyes. The eyes I find myself staring back to, when I look in the mirror..."i wanted to delve into more storytelling with my illustrations, and this was my first step for it.
like i mentioned on Instagram, this is a reflection of Cadwell's state of mind. bearing the responsibility of millions of lives for so long, known for paving the path to the current peaceful times. yet, with the "privilege" of being born with star blood, shouldn't he have the power to prevent the deaths that led to this?
he knows he can't save everyone, but — he reasons — technically as someone god-like, he could. yet here he was, sending mortals to their deaths to an entity from the beyond. but it was for greater purpose — unless they let the world be plunged into another starless century.
selfish as it may be, even as problems become more dire and more significant than a mortal life, Cadwell is grasping at the threads in hopes that his plans, and all of mortalkind's efforts come into fruition.
or is Cadwell just simply trying not to look at the possibility of him becoming like his predecessor?
fun times!
