Just been thinking a lot about a memory that got triggered recently. When I was young, like really little we my mom drove me and my siblings to an Israel picnic of sorts. To celebrate Israel. I remember making a blue and white sign all together. I remember falling asleep in the driving and waking up excited. I remember a lot of people. Families. Other kids. All having fun together sitting and talking and listening to speechs of sorts. It's all a bit hazy. I couldn't have been older than 7. I remember my mother pulling me close. I remember an odd feeling. Seeing police. A circle of people moving away from a cop confronting someone. I remember getting pulled by my mother further into the crowd. Asking what was happening, why was there police? "Just here to keep us safe, everything is okay" something along those lines. I didn't understand. I couldn't comprehend why would we need protecting. I didn't realize that we were a target. Nothing bad happened that day but my mom never took us again.

Something could have happened
Someone may have been trying to make something happen
But I was spared of experiencing that trauma.

Yet my people all around the world face it time and time again.

Idk where I'm going with this just late night thoughts I guess
