Suyana
Another comfort character to draw for me is Suyana. She has only appeared once in my comic Espero and hasn't been named yet, but she will have more relevance in the story. She's the best friend of the main character's sibling (yep, not so closely related to the main character) and soon she'll be a good friend to Calipso as well.Long story time ahead, sorry, I have hard time trying to make this descriptions short
Suyana arrived to the kingdom of Espero by herself as a teenager and then adopted by a single mother and her kid who welcomed her in their family. She loved her adoptive family, but truth is she never forgot her original home.
The reason she arrived alone to this magical land is because she was scaping the constant harassment from intolerant people who hated her for being trans, but also for being considered to "beautiful". From one part, there were people who didn't accept her as a woman and kept insulting her and her family (who also had a hard time trying to understand her, even though they tried), from the other part there were men who did saw her as a beautiful woman, but then were harassing her because of how attractive they found her and things got worst when Suyana showed no interest on them. (This mostly because this came mostly from creepy old men) The hatred escalated to death threats and even violent attacks to both her and her family, who were to poor to move anywhere else. That's why one night Suyana decided to leave her house behind without telling anybody and during her road, the divine gates of Espero opened for her.
Now she lives in peace with a new family and friends in a land where she's allowed to exist among people who love her, though she can't forget her past. Sadly, the future of her new home is at risk and she's about to find out.Jan 26, 2023
