Abstract art using photography!Abstract art and photography? Whaatt??
It’s easy! You can find it anywhere: In raindrops on your window, in shadows repeating colours and shapes and more! You can find it randomly on a walk for example a black and white shot of branches on a tree or in window reflections of skyscrapers. But you could also stage it at home. For example you could drop some olive oil in a bowl of water and use different light sources, you could find it in your art supplies in repeating patterns or a black and white shot of your paint brushes and and and… There are so many opportunities!
I have been asked if you can use filters or combine a photography with a drawing and of course you can!
In this challenge you can’t lose and I will not declare a winner. But I hope that it may open your eyes to the little things in life! Seeing little patterns or beautiful moments that may also inspire your art and life.
I already posted an example if you feel a bit overwhelmed. I can understand I found my inspiration by googling the topping and looking at the different pictures!

I think it's a fun challenge. There aren't many abstract artists or photographers around to my knowledge so it'll be fun to see what people come up with.
My only critique goes to the original image: the black letters on the dark grey background has a low contrast and isn't as readable as the other side.
Also having examples in the og image probably helps people entering understand what kind of abstract art/photo is allowed. (just something to keep in mind for future challenges. )
Out of curiosity, can artists take a photo and draw on it to add to the abstract vibes?
I'd love to try since I rarely incorporate photos.
