How do you combat negative feelings about your art? Sometimes I like it and sometimes yall it makes me feel stinkyDec 15, 2021

I embraced a long time ago that (especially art-wise, but sorta applies to everything) nothing is perfect & everything is flawed. The imperfections prove it was made by hand, & I love that! I end up smiling a good bit when a mess up a bit of the lineart, even when I’m working digitally, I’ll add in purposeful “mess-ups” in the lineart so it looks more like it was lovingly made, & it was!

Some of the most famous pieces of art have flaws in them, but we wouldn’t know what they were because we aren’t the OG artists!

Basically, embrace the flaws if those flaws aren’t fixable things like a wobble in the lineart because your heart beats & the pulse runs through your fingers. If it is a fixable thing, like learning how to draw (EX) horses better, then go learn how to draw horses better!

I hope this helps!
hmm i mostly just not do anything about it and take a break but sometimes i try to change what i don't like
I used to get very sad and compare myself to others, but I started seeing it as a motivation to improve and develop a truly unique style, you just need to stop and think that just leaving it won’t solve anything, it’s worth it just drawing ✍️, whatever you want, I think we should sometimes just do what artists have always done, introduce themselves by their art, so always you’re drawing what you feel like, you’re doing something, improving.
Remember everybody moves in a total different way and that’s beautiful
For me i look back at my old art and compare it with my new drawings, that generally helps make me feel better about my art. Also doing redraws! Another thing to do is stay away from comparing your art to other people, that tends to make me feel like poop :( hope this helps!
Well, if it makes me feel bad I know that it's time to take some break. It's better not to push it. 🌸

Also even if it looks bad. It's all a process. I think I should learn to love the process. Drawing bad art is also a part. 🌿
