Sometimes l like going through my old insta posts and admiring how crappy my art looked and how far I’ve come as an artist. I’ve grown so much and I’m proud of that. Then I look at the likes and realize, I get even less than I did before. A lot less. Something that would take me like 5 minutes to draw now, got triple the likes three years ago. And it’s all because of Instagrams stupid algorithm. People are just not seeing what I post at all. I made it so that all my posts have the likes hidden, but somehow I think that made it worse. I can barely scrape past 30-40 likes, when three years ago I’d get 70-100 or more on lucky days. Granted neither of these numbers are a lot. But three years ago they’d give me hope, because somehow I thought as long as I get better and keep improving, more people are gonna see my art and they’re gonna enjoy it and I’m gonna be able to make people happy with my art. Then Instagram started changing its algorithm over and over and over. “Post twice a week and you’ll get noticed more, post OC art and you’ll get noticed more, do dtiys, do tutorials, post reels, follow all the trends and you’ll be fine.” It’s never ending. And I’ve only been going downhill. This app comes and it gives me hope, but I know it’s gonna take me probably another 3 years or more to get to where I use to be on either of these apps. All I wanted was for people to see my art and smile. And instead I got almost nothing. I’ve devoted most of my life to improving myself and I get almost nothing. It’s disheartening. I know I’m never going to quit drawing, I know I’ll always be here trying my best, but it’s days like this where I wonder what the point even was. What the point of drawing was, if no ones gonna see it. Sorry for posting this here. I don’t really have anyone to talk to about this since it will sound pretty egotistical to anyone who doesn’t post things for others to see. If you’ve read this far, thanks for listening to my sad rambling. In the end no matter how many likes I get or how many followers I have, I’ll always be grateful to the ones that stuck around. And hopefully, maybe when I’m older, I’ll be able to create all the things I want to create. People will enjoy it, and be as happy with what I’ve made as I’ll be.Feb 10, 2022

I totally understand... If it helps I love your art and im always inspired by it. That's what I have always wanted to do to, to create art, and share it with others to inspire them. I guess the only thing to do is hang in there and keep creating? Either way I wish you luck on your endeavors :)

•I've been going through the same process, it's really disheartening, like you see your growth and progress and it's not getting recognized because of some awful limitation set by an algorithm you can't control and it's unfair. It's alright to feel this way and I don't think you sound egotistical, you're doing a good job and I'm happy to see your works on my feed
