Revisiting childhood movies: The Little Mermaid
"A better ending than the original story, that's for sure."
This is an iconic, well-animated, super charming, energetic, and overall engaging Disney classic. I can't wait for the live action remake to miss the point of why people love it so much in the first place.
Xtra Notes:
-Someone give Sebastian all of the sea dollars in the world, cuz hot dang did he go through a lot in this movie.
-Ursula, one of the Disney villains that I consider S-tier. She moves around with the exaggerated swagger of a cunning sea witch.
-The animation! It's so expressive and fluid!
-The chef's song about him doing his cooking job sounds a lot like Be Our Guest from Beauty & The Beast, which came out two years after this one.
-Speaking of songs: the songs! They're so catchy and memorable!
-Happily ever afters can be the sweetest thing, yo.
-There's two direct-to-video sequels. They stink as hard as Buddy's attempts at singing during Kiss the Girl.Apr 17, 2022
