Question to any OC making artist that has a story for their characters... do you consider yourself a writer?

I ask this cause I struggle calling myself a writer as I am not that great at writing. nor do I have a good handle on grammar :'D i always struggled with grammar as I learn languages by sound... so when writing my tenses go all over the place especially in italian since I base it off people's speech! (and that can be often incorrect). Would you consider yourself a writer despite these difficulties?

(if you don't have the story written don't worry me too for the longest of times) xD

Heck no! I'll be telling stories but absolutely refusing to call myself a storyteller, because if anything, I'm a worldbuilder

Love to make up weird places and people to inhabit them, but in no way can I ever explain what's happening there in an easily digestible and compelling way
Only until recently did I want to start giving a face to my characters so I guess I was a writer before being an artist. I've finished 1 novel and have quarters of like...a million but no recent art for them besides a sketch of my most pretty man. I'm also pursuing a minor in English so that's a lot of writing - creative and boringly structured lol. I believe that as long as you write, you're a writer. Even the best can't do it all - always room for improvement but if we enjoy what we do and others are interested, even better!
I do! not a professional though. I just like having fun!
I guess I do now that I have a webcomic that’s out rn

I’m not the best at it but after having done quite a bit of writing now, I’d say it doesn’t make me any less of a writer no matter what I or other people say.
Hahaha no… I’m pretty bad at it.
I used to have a friend who would read all of my OC’s lore and then fix my grammar and spelling ^^’
Absolutely consider myself a writer. I write dialogue don't I? Screenwriters write just dialogue and stage directions, and they are considered writers. So I would think the person that makes the story of a comic and thus the characters' words is also a writer.
I do consider myself a writer as well as an artist. I sometimes struggle with creating a full story, especially if I know how long I plan it to be and what will happen next. There's many factors but I've been drawing and writing for some years now. I draw, I write, I consider myself both an artist and writer.
I don't know? Is it like writing a proper novel?🤔
I barely consider myself an artist, but I do like to write (as much as I equally hate it and as mediocre as I am). Uuuugh I can relate with my whole heart to the struggle of trying to learn and do both. Part of me wants to find a writer I really resonate with and try to be their illustrator but it’s also scary to think of committing to another like that when potentially I might not be as inspired by their ideas or their characters vs my own even if mine are objectively worse. I feel like art exists in this pendulous state of inspiration and block depending on what you’re trying to produce, when, for whom, the perceived pressure, your mood, the time of day, the temperature in the room… and honestly maybe writing is the same 😭
I write and draw, so I find making ocs and world building really fun!
I can also be defined as that one meme:

‘This artist is also a writer’
“I like to suffer creatively twice”
After making Comics with walls of text I realized that I am, a pretty amateur one indeed as I also have problems with grammar, haha.

It is like naif painting: painters who had no professional studies, yet they still painted with dedication and a meaning. Not all of them made their art a career, yet they were still artists.

I think that's a similar case with me. I'm not a professional and I don't write all the time, but I still do it passionately and I consider myself a part time writer.
I do consider myself a writer, but because I've been doing as long as I've been drawing. I'm not only writing the story for my OCs, I also write random things because I like doing it, and I usually write silly little snippets of things for the descriptions of my drawings here.
I dont consider myself a writer purely because they're not all connected to a singular story. While I do have multiple time periods, religions, etc built into the world my characters live in, most of them just kinda live in a general time period with no connections to each other
i consider myself a writer because i do write for my ocs, and i mess up the tenses too sometimes, it's a pain to go back and clean up the text afterwards lol
Not really though, my writing and grammar aren't that great, but I do have the concept just don't know how to execute it
i do! but that's also partly because i do write often, whether it be oc work in screenplay format or fanfiction in prose ^__^
Oh yeah I somehow struggle to call myself a written even tho I'm literally writing the story of our OCs lmao

But honestly the thing is that my partner (who is writing the story with me) is way better at writing than I am, so generally when speaking about our duo I first call myself the illustrator and my partner the writer, but in reality I write too. I consider myself very lucky to have such a skilled person to help me bring our world to life
Oh yeah, I'm definitely a writer too, I really love to write about my oc lore, sometimes I write pages filled with important scenes- and this is mostly to prevent forgetting it, but still I write a lot

Actually I write so much at some point in my life I thought it would be better if my story was a book saga, but thankfully I changed my mind🤣
I used to, but I don't really have a passion for writting, plus I end up rewriting a lot of stuff due to how bad everything ends up xD.
So not really, I don't think I could call myself a wrier
yess and no? i mostly pinpoint my stories when i write them down, rarely it’s in a discursive way with direct/indirect/report speech (il mio cervello connette scrittore a quello 😅)
so yeah, maybe not a writer in the Stephen King way, but still a writer
I dont think i write enough for my ocs to be considered a writer, i prefer creator tbh, because at the end of the day i am creating. I mostly just draw a bunch of doodles to keep track of the lore
OOO ITALIAN!!! My nonna is from italy and so are my ancestors :D and yeah, I consider myself a writer xD I basically traded addictions. I went from being addicted to drawing to being addicted to writing (I should get addicted to drawing again :( I miss art)
