Hornless, spineless Hazar
This is more or less the kind of fluff style I'll be going for him since it seems more proper to the kind of fluff he's supposed to be growing as opposed to the massively unkept lion's mane. He does grow in a full on fluffy mane, but it'd be pretty exaggerated to say that's his signature appearance.Hazar has three ways he'll look in public: unkept, terribly/unevenly/shaggy trim, and properly trimmed.

However, he's blind. Like, he only sees in intense blurs around himself, which doesn't help his conditions. Based on how deep in his depressive episodes he may be, he'll let his mane grow out. However, if he's not only depressed, but greatly upset and distressed, he'll tend to rip full patches of his fluff regardless of where that patch is located. That's IF he didn't instead resort to self harm.
Mandabenan don't produce keratin to form fur or hair. Their fluff is purely a chitinous result that, unfortunately, is more a product of the skin itself and it holds very sensitive nerve anchors that give these things an important thermal function. Jeroid are the only known types to grow this fluff and their threads at a pretty constant rate. Most other types halt their growth when they reach 20 cycles. Trims become a permanent style past that age.
So safe to say Hazar had the fortune of being a Jeroid and being blessed enough to regrow his fluff every time he rips it off. However, it doesn't stop the damage induced from said ripping. Sometimes, the root of growth comes out damaged. This will mess with his body acclimation to temperature and his ability to sense temperature shifts. This furthers his issues when it comes to living unmonitored since not only is he a threat to himself due to self harming tendencies, but also because of the fact he wouldn't feel things like flames and super cold, frost bite inducing temperatures until he starts feeling the pain. Even the former doesn't really warn him on time before real damage starts kicking in. This is especially a hazard when his own body starts messing with the notion of whether it's actually hot or not. He'll have episodes where he's almost catching a fever due to how hot his body becomes, which will absolutely make him strip & expose himself to anything cold. Similarly when his temperature instead drops and he desperately seeks for warmth.Apr 5, 2022
