Cipher Academy Welcomes All!!Cipher Academy is a secret school/organization entrusted by the government with the task to teach, train and guide teens with supernatural abilities. To the general public, this school is nothing more than a boarding school, but inside they're helping the next generation of shadow helpers to grow strong!
Cipher Academy:
- Beginner students are the ones who've been in the school for up to 3 years. They are heavily monitored and require a mandatory student buddy (an advanced student who'll help them)
- Intermediate students have been in the school from 4 to 6 years. They have more freedom to use their abilities and no longer need a student buddy
- Advanced students have been in the school from 7 to 9 years. They start training to work in the outside world with other shadow helpers (superhumans who secretly work to help and save others). They are responsible for a beginner student as means to help them become more responsible

- Your OC needs a supernatural ability, such as super strength, mind reading, talk to animals, etc.
- Check the post "Why Your OC Might Need Adjustments" in my "Cipher Info" collection before submiting your OC
There I explain the 3 main points a Cipher OC needs to check to be accepted. As a resume: human, power, drawbacks.
- Before creating your OC pls check to see if no one has a similar power yet. If there's a lot of entries by the time you join (like more than 20) I can accept similar powers but pls try to be unique
- Your OC's power needs a drawback, like "power can only work if they say a magic word", "power can only work if both hands are free" or "power can only work if they're always hot", etc.
- Your OC can be female, male or non-binary. The uniform is the same for everyone (in case you can't see it clearly, those are pants) and you can mix and match longer and shorter options; also you can give them different shoes, but they need to be as comfy and resistant as these bc they'll be using them to train
- Accessories like gloves, earings, bags, etc. are allowed and your OC can wear them with the uniform, so long as it's nothing that changes the appearence of the actual clothes
- There's no deadline but if a bunch of people seem interested in this I'll create new challenges for you to draw you Cipher OC in!!

β’Question: Would having healing tears be ok? As in, when the OC cries, they cry tears that can be used to heal others its used on? Of course, drawbacks will that 1: the person has to cry and 2: the tears can't be stored for more than 1 hour or else they will lose their healing effect.

β’Ok, so sorry this is REALLY late, but I wanna submit a character design, but first I need to check some things, like is there already someone who can summon any weapon as their power (also the drawback is that the usefulness, durability, quality, etc. depends on the character's mood) also is it ok if I use on oc that I've already made, (haven't posted it on Artfol yet.) but I put it in the Cipher Academy uniform?

β’Hi! I've seen this challenge around for a while but never got any ideas until now! I just wanted to check some things before I started drawing.
Since there's a LOT of entries, I couldn't really go through to check if a power was used already so I apologize in advance (I would read like 10 then lose track). Is it okay if my oc has dream 'manipulation' where they can view dreams and 'change' it to some degree? It's not really changing dreams themselves, more of the emotional impact that the dream evokes. Example: someone has a nightmare and my oc can read into their dream, change their emotions to happiness, then the dream could possibly change based upon the different emotion, but my oc can't decide where it leads. It can only be used once per person per day/night for a short amount of time. Problem with using this power is that when my oc wants to even view a dream at all (changing emotions or not) they couldn't have slept for more than 4 hours prior. So they are basically sleep deprived. And if they are viewing a dream and it ends, my oc would wake up as if they were asleep as well. The amount of time they were asleep for varies and the oc has no idea how long it was unless they ask someone else. Can range from minutes to hours. Daydreams also count as a dream, but those are shorter therefore more risky.
The way my oc would use it is if someone is having constant nightmares they can help with it, or if they need someone to wake up they can make the dreamer feel a rush of adrenaline and try to get out of the dream before the dreamer wakes up.

it's what the name say. the student can pixel things, if you pick this invent the drawback .
power 2 : ghost invocation.
can make appear ghost be saying a random name or a name of the student familiar who are dead.
power 3: stop motion
can make things stop moving, can be humain or object falling down when you are actually searching for food at 3am.
power 4 : liquidification.
the student can make their self into the liquid state.
power 5 : high,high
the student can make their self taller or smaller.
power 6 : object appear
the student can make appear any object that they touched in their whole life
power 7 : flying
the student can fly-

A small question, does it power count as similar even if each would be is implemented differently? Like, would water breathing, water blast, and water manipulation be all considered the same powers because it has to do with water overall or are they considered different enough? If at some point, both has the weakness of dry areas, are they considered the same enough? How similar should one's power be for one to be unable to get accepted?
I hope you didn't mind this, from the idea of mind I felt like there's a good chance that there ended up having similarities, but I gotten attached to it

I'm atm working on my OC for Cipher Academy and I was wondering if I could add to his sheet a Screenshot of the uniform that I chose for him over which I then draw him. It would just be for the flat colors and a front on view of him at the same time (if not that's totally cool. I just wanna ask ^^)

IK u answered that we canβt modify the uniforms. But are we allow to add like subtle prints on it? Likeβ¦ adding a flower on the corner of the pants. Itβs like they sew it on or iron the prints on it. Itβs not like having a lot of patterns on it. Just one subtle thing. Possibly to represent who they are(?)
