Parents are so good at making you cringe at words you use by using them themselves. I thought it would ease as I'd grow older, but it really doesn't.
My husband and I always call cats "chachou" (contraction of chat and chou, which is french for cat and cute), and my dad started using the word too and it makes me cringe so hard. It was my husband and I's little word, our little thing. I guess I'm being protective over a made-up word lol.Dec 24, 2025
