Great point u should add, u don’t have to walk the cat to go to the bathroom, they aren’t loud like dogs, they will cuddle with u rather then just want to play

I’d suggest talking to her about what her anxiety’s about getting a cat are. I did a lot of chores to prove I was “responsible” enough for a dog.

A lot of shelter kittens are trained in homes before adoption. They get used to claw clipping, baths, food, are fixed and are potty trained to use the litter box before you get them. You don't have to worry too much about that front. They are independent animals. Food and litter is cheap. If they're indoor only which I'd highly recommend you don't have to worry about fleas, , injury or vet visits. Even if you need shots every now and then its super inexpensive. Even a hyper kitten grows up fast in a year to become a lap cats. If you're worried about scratching they only do it bc you need to provide proper scratching posts an 80 dollar super duty standing post can easily last 3 years. Clip thier claws when they get long. Cardboard floor posts are cheap too. Get a simple water bottle with lemon juice in it and spray. They're quick learners. They like to cuddle and are very nice. Each breed and cat has thier own personality just like dogs do but they aren't loud or distruptive. Little box care is super easy. Wood based litter (not pellets) will not make smells. The easiest pets to handel ever. And super cute. Kittens at a shelter go for 100 to 150. There are usually deals on multiples. The older a cat is the cheaper to adopt. Example, 9 month old kitten is 75 bucks. Adult cat 50 bucks, older are usually 25 bucks or free. Kittens are easier because they don't have baggage. Not to say you shouldn't get an older cat but the behavoir is your fault instead of a previous owners. Cats are chill. You rarely have to even Grove them bc they're smart enough to be independent and take care of themselves.

I personally don't know what it's like WITHOUT a cat haha. I've always lived with cats, nearly everyone in my family is a huge cat person. I have never had a dog in my life, barely anyone (if any) in my family has a dog. There are more cats in my family than humans. And I could not imagine living without cats, they are so goddamn calming to me (expect when they're not lol.) My cats just make me happy by them existing. So yeah, huge cat lover over here so I'm a bit biased.

MEMEMEMEME!!! cats have healthful benefits such as lowering heart disease risks and can even help wounds heal faster (there's definitely more health benefits, I need to look them up real quick )
