Im really curious on how an art commissiom works. How do you do it? Does the customer text you through the dms or emails? Or how do you send the finished work to them? Pricing, etcMar 15, 2021

I usually have a website or somewhere easy to access for them to know prices and terms of service, as well as the form to ask for my services (which includes which char they want, what style they want, etc...)

The majority of my commissioners are from flight rising, so they directly contact me through the forum and, when I am ready to work on it, I DM them.

The finished work is usually sent through the DMs (I put the finished work in my discord server, which only I have access to add samples of my work) and send the link to them. If image is way too big though, I opt for email.

I price my artwork based off:
Time spent, difficulty of style and general market price (which depends on what platform you are using to divulge your commission).

An example of general market price which affects the prices:
Flight rising is a web browser game which involves a public which doesnt have too much money. As such, my prices must be adjusted for them. On another side, when someone reaches for me on a more professional forum, in which most people have more money, the price is also adjusted for them (the quality ofc though, gets much better to adjust to the money they spend).
For this, needless to say the solution is looking at those who make a similar work to you in the place you are offering your services and see what is the minimum they usually ask.

When selling your work for clients with commercial purposes though (games, etc), price should be higher because they are getting money from your work as well, by the end of the day
