Onestar & Darktail
Onestar wasn't always my favorite character. Especially his behavior in the cycle "A Vision of Shadows" was terribly infuriating and caused terrible negative emotions, however... His remorse, confession and bitterness in the book "Shattered sky", and later death - also caused considerable emotions. All I felt at the time was compassion and, well, even love for this... unusual character. How many tears were shed over the death of a seemingly infuriating character is beyond words. You know, absolutely every death I experience is emotionally terrible (with the exception of bad characters), and Onestar is a separate song, because, as written above — because of his behavior, I had a completely negative attitude towards him, because his actions went out of the way.
