Maybe focus more on the shading instead of lines! Start slow and don’t add too much if it doesn’t feel right

This might be a lame answer, but your best bet is probably to just find a bunch of photo-references and sketch the noses. Once you get a feel for them from practicing, then it will probably be easier to simplify them however you want.

I struggle with drawing noses too, and my style is undergoing some changes so how i draw noses is changing as well! but i’ve noticed that i’m pretty consistent in using a very soft triangle shape, both upside down and right side up! i don’t always line it either but instead just use a block of color in the triangle shape to suggest that’s where the nose is. it’s not for everyone, but it’s how i do it!

Have you tried doing the point with the line AND the shading you are doing now? My favorite thing to do though is to look at how a bunch of other artists do noses and try them out to see what I like
