For those that uses artfol as their main art app, how has your experience been compared to other apps?Dec 8, 2022

Very good!
People are way more likely to interact (usually via comments) on here than Instagram &/or Tumblr! Part of it is the lack of an algorithm, the other (main) part of it are the users themselves!
Problematic accounts tend to be taken care of once reported, the Artfol Team does their best to listen & help their users, there’s actually a built in art-theft report option that’s easy to use (looking at you, Instagram…)
Bots, scammers, & harassers have been found on Artfol in the past, but thanks to users reporting issues & the Artfol Team actually checking reports themselves on a seemingly regular basis, these types of problem accounts are usually removed from the platform! If they come back on another account, it’s usually rinse & repeat until they’re actually gone for good.

•Can't add anything more to kellienicely's comment, so I'll just say my experience has been positive.
Yeah, you won't see industry pros here, which is sad, but it's nice to see solidarity between smaller artists here who are still developing.
That being said Artfol needs more non artists for it to be beneficial for artists trying to make money and I don't know how this app will approach that. How can this app become attractive to the average non artist?
Maybe they'll become something between artstation, Fiverr and Etsy etc? And try to fill in the commercial gap?
But that's easier said than done.

•I like the text posts for more interactivity. The age demographic here is a lot lower so it doesn't allow for art industry conversations as much as Twitter. There's a lot of angst and apologetic posts here due to the younger demographic.
The art experience level is also lower compared to both IG and Twitter. But the number of people on here is significantly lower than either of those.
I think the core structure of the app is highly valued, I think people need to share that they use this site more and Artfol needs an actual marketing plan. If more artists joined, it would be better for everyone (more variety, skill levels, experiences, friendship, etc).
