Im really struggling to grow as an artist on socials and im wondering what i can do to actually change that. It might be just because my art is much more contemporary and not anime in its style, It lends itself to people liking it but not interacting as much as they would if it was Anime drawings posted regularly with timelapses.
When you look at my art what do you think could be done to get me a bit of extra traction?

Obviously on here it's more to do with the community so thats kinda of self explanatory. No algorithm here.
For instagram, they boost reels far more than regular posts and you have to pretty consistent posting. In addition I would actually avoid using as many hashtags as you can.
Honesrly tik tok for me is the most random. Like it can entirely depend on time you post, the hashtags you use or even the music lol.
Also, sidenote I really love your art, especially your environmental ones! I was just wondering if I could dm you about something related to authors/writers?

I heavily doubt the problem is your style. It's increadibly beautiful. Both backgrounds AND characters. Even if it's not for everyone's taste, it's defenetely amazing to gain attraction.
I believe the main problem regarding this most likely has to be the algorithm messing with you. While you didn't mention any specific socials, most have very poor algorithms that prioritize very regular posting schedules. And I don't want to make any assumptions, but just by seeing how detailed your artworks are, I'm pretty confident to think it must take a huge amount of time to complete just a single piece.
I've recently looked for tips and tricks on how to grow on socials and a few I got is basically
-utilize as many hashtags as possible
-try to post your progress alongside with the finished art. Sketch, lineart, flat colors, time lapse and some stuff. If you don't want to clug your gallery with them, you can just make an alt account to post them on which you can link to your main. That way, you can gain the favor of the algorithm by posting more often and if people check your profile, they're likely to check your main link as well.
-try to make some fan art. Unfortunately, fandom stuff gets much more traction than originals, which I myself experienced. And it's not just in art. You can notice this in the music industry. I follow a band called No Resolve and they started out with original songs, but these days they've been making more cover songs instead. And I can defenetely see why. I looked through their list of work and so far, their covers made much more views over their og stuff. Get Me Out, a 11 year old og song, is literally the only song that made at least close enough views to their covers.

•I think socials are just rough in general for anyone trying to grow. Not a lot of visibility these days unless you pay for it. I would say in addition to posting your lovely art think about what value you can provide for others. What is the kind of person that would follow you? Then you can figure out what is appealing to that audience.

Do you do commissions, fan art, or stuff? I think it would attract more people cuz people are more familiar with say a tv show or something, and it could cause more people to discover your art! Idk. I have been thinking of doing fan art of stuff this summer. I’ve also been looking to grow on socials
