Natural light always helps, and taking the photo from an angle where no shadows fall on the picture itself. I always edit my photo brightness manually afterwards in an app too and flip back and forth between the photo and a white background picture/app to compare if the highlights are bright enough. When the whites and highlights eventually look correct compared to a reference, I'll save the image.

Taking it next to a window with natural light really helps, or if you're like me and only ever take photos in the dead of night, use camscanner and edit the HECK out of it

There’s an app called camscanner that I use, other then that I will directly scan it with my dad’s printer

Morning hours always work great for me with very light editing. If I can't get a nice picture then with good shadows, I try an afternoon shot with more indirect light. Best advice I could say is experiment you know.

I edit traditional art. It also depends, do you have a good phone or camera? Camera will make or break it for you. I also suggest having a posable led adjustable desk lamp

I take mine in the morning, and I usually use a filter to properly bring out the colors and stuff

Near the window or have a lamp with white-ish light (not yellow-ish). It always works for me! I also edit my art for diffirent moods

Take your pictures near natural light or even outside on a nice day! For those darker/shaded corners on your art, try placing white colored objects near those areas, usually a big blank sketchbook page (of another sketchbook, of course) should reflect some light onto those slightly darker areas! If the art is black & white, some photo editing on your phone or something should do the trick! If it’s a colored piece, perhaps investing in a photo scanner could help! It’ll digitally scan your art onto a computer! If you do invest in one, keep in mind they tend to lighten up colors a bit because of the bright lights used during the scanning process! I hope this helps!

Here’s what I do I take the pics near a window so all the natural light can hit it then I edit it using my phones built in photo editing software then move that over to Snapseed

I have the same issue but been given the following advice - either use a lightbox with white walls and the light and camera coming from above or, if you prefer natural light, try taking pics during the "golden hour" - either right after sunrise or right before sunset. Hope this helps! Editing is slso sn option but I haven't learned that yet
