Anyone else get upset or discouraged when a drawing u worked hard on and Took hours on flops but a sketch or a WIP that took an hour or less gets more attention? I say as it’s currently happening to me

i think it’s kind of fun! it helps me know what aspects of my art people are connecting with- what about the sketch aren’t they feeling in the final piece? maybe the sketch has more flow and energy to it while finished pieces could end up overworked and stiff.... something to think about!

Ugh its so annoying when that happens... thats why i mostly post sketches in stories (or not at all unless i havent posted in a while)

•Yeah it’s not just you, it’s so hard however research has shown that people prefer wips as their brain pictures what the finished piece will look like whereas the final piece may not be to their style... weird

•yeah. like it takes days to finish the drawing and figuring out how to make it look good to me just for it to do bad. hate that.

I think sometimes people feel intimidated by finished pieces and connect more with rough drawings. It’s not that your hard work isn’t well earned and admired. I’m sure of it
