The Red Queen reading to the Queen of Hearts. Many people meld the two queens together when they interpret the series. Lewis Carroll said in an interview that the Queen of Hearts was a symbol of unbridled passion and rage, while the Red Queen was a cold (but not unkindly) empress. After American Mcgee’s Alice, I fell in love with the idea of the Queen of Hearts being a child.
