Sorry I’m not a hugger

I recently had a friend who for our entire friendship withheld the affection and support I desperately needed, claiming to hate physical touch and making it painstakingly obvious how little she liked serious conversation.
But when a new friend came into her life, one with an endless line of friends and professionals there to help offer kindness and support, I was forced to physically stand and watch as she hung around her neck like a lover and offered all of the love, emotional connection and intuitiveness that I had been starved of from all angles of my life.Jun 2, 2022
